We head into the city to get our bearings. After a coffee at South Bank we wander along Queen Street mall and the arcades heading off it. The Myer Christmas windows were good and we wondered if the Melbourne store had a similar theme????

After a great week staying with Max and Julie we head into Brisbane keen to spend some time checking out the last capital city in Australia we are yet to visit, having circled around it in the past couple of weeks. We get a good ensuite site in a park near Mt Gravatt which will allow us to travel by bus or train into the city each day.

A day trip to visit the Glass House Mountains which we had viewed from a distance several times but not visited. Lots of farms, houses and forest in between the peaks which provide great views.

A big day for the locals as the Beach Boys are playing at the local tavern tonight. We visit the local market in the morning and check out some colourful shops in the street. About 8,000 people attended the concert while we slept soundly.

We ventured to Turners Camp and fished for whiting near the Bribie Island bridge. Some success but approaching thunderstorms meant an early finish with just a couple of whiting in the bucket.
