The following day we did a half day snorkelling trip. A thai instructer took us to a longtail boat and this took us to three different spots where we got into the water to snorkel. We were swimming with all sorts of fish in every colour of the rainbow. We even spotted a few of the finding nemo fish. We then had some food on the boat and after that we were brought to a little island. This island is a national park so nobody can live there. That means that apart form one or two tiny huts there were no houses or buildings there which gave a deserted island feel to the place. After about an hour we were back on the boat and heading home to the main land. We all agreed that it was the best thing we have done so far, which makes me so excited to do my scuba course in a few weeks.
We had a quick break after the snorkelling before Ruth and I decided to go to the islands view point. This was quiet different from the view point at Koh Phangan and involved us climbing lots and lots of steep steps. Once at the top we were greeted with a spectacular view of the island which made the strenuous climb all the worth while. A sign indicated that if we continued on another 40 minutes through a bit of a jungle, we would find a bay so off we went on our merry way. Not a good idea because after over an hour we met no bay, had run out of much needed water and were exhausted. We turned back defeated and tired and by the time we got back to the accommodated we were broken girls. (Two days later and my legs are still a bit stiff). After we got back we ate dinner and relaxed for a few hours. On the boat to Koh Samui Deirdre started talking to a Scottish guy named andy so that night we met up with him and some of his friends in an Irish bar, finishing up at a massive and wild beach party before passing out until about two the following day.
