Kev had the day all planned - we were heading for St Michael's Mount, a castle, which is on its own island off the Coast from Marazion, South Cornwall. The Mount was first a Priory and then later a fort. At low tide the island can be accessed by way of a causeway. Tuesday 21 June 2011 Set off early today as we had an 11.15am crossing from Yarmouth to Islington on the ferry. We made good time and it was a pretty straight forward trip so we arrived at around 10am. We lined up and the ferry eventually arrived. They have a system here that if you arrive early and there is room for you they let you on. So it was that we made the 10.30am crossing! Monday 20 June 2011 Yesterday the weather was pretty encouraging apart from the cool wind but today loomed drizzly, cold and overcast. We tossed up what to do but decided to head for Ventnor as planned. Ventnor was only a few k’s along the coast and much of the distance was along the top of a cliff.
