And we're off. The bus through to Glasgow wasn't too bad. And the shuttle bus to the airport was waiting for us when we arrived. Handy. Cost a fiver each. Nightmare. Plane to Luton was quick and easy. Luton airport's an odd place though. It's a fairly big one, but it was really quiet when we arrived. We kinda thought there'd be people rushing around at all hours of the day.

The flight to Cluj Napoca (Romania) wasn't until the next morning. I thought we'd stay at the airport overnight, but Katie was determined to spend our last night in a decent bed. I suppose it turned out to be a decent idea. Maybe Luton airport wouldn't be a great place to spend the night. I did it in Munich, but that was actually quite nice as airports go. £48 for one night isn't too bad and it was a cosy bed. And the shower was massive.

We were up at 5 the next morning. It was a five minute walk to the airport, which was far busier than the night before. There was traffic backed up all the way from our hotel and people were still getting in taxis. We checked our bags in, had a fairly awful breakfast and went to find our departure gate. Before we knew it we'd shown our boarding passes and they herded us into a room to wait for the shuttle bus. So we waited in line. Then more people arrived and the line disappeared, we were just crowded into the hot stuffy room with big windows all along the side so we could see how lovely it was out in the fresh air. There was a family standing over by the windows playing lullabies to their baby. After a while you could see people swaying where they stood.

We must have stood there a good half hour or so before some guy came over the tannoy to apologise for the delay. The flight crew had been late arriving! That got a good laugh. A few nods and knowing winks were shared and eventually the bus arrived to board us onto the plane where we slept in fits and starts. It was a pleasant enough journey, though I wasn't entirely conscious for the bulk of it.
