G'day everyone, apologies for being so late had no Internet :(

We have arrived safe and sound in Aus! What a journey it's been. We met Josh in the airport by the entrance to the pool about an hour and a half after we arrived in Singapore, we all went and had a snack and a huge catch up and then josh jumped in the pool - sad to say Chris and i hadn't packed our swimming gear so just watched josh.  We all sat there with our cans of coke watching the planes being organised and the night sky by the pool, an amazing moment.

Our flight from Singapore to Darwin was ... Interesting. The plane was only a third full so we all moved to sit with each other and all three of us stretched out over 3 seats which was a great bonus considering there was no in flight entertainment and the food wasn't included. However when the stewardess came to our row she gave Josh a package with a blanket, socks etc as well as a meal - later found out he had bought a ticket which included these extras whereas Chris and i had not. We bought snacks from their menu and funnily enough so did josh as the food was so bad. Josh still had the upper hand though as he had a blanket :)

We slept nearly the whole journey, once we reached Darwin we were originally supposed to stay on the same aircraft and continue onto Cairns but due to the lack of passengers we had to transfer onto another flight. We went through Australia's notoriously scary check in counters - all three of our bags were searched but no problem. We were given a voucher for food so I got a ginger bread man, Chris a chicken pasta and josh an apple - best food available at 5am! Got onto our connecting flight and it said this is the service to cairns via Gove!!!!! I think I may have been the only one that found that amusing. So arrived at  Gove which is a smaller airport than Manston, we had to get off again and get searched before we then walked back onto the same aircraft. 

Finally touch down in Cairns at 10am, we immediately got a taxi to go and pick up our campervan. We then discussed where to park up for the night, so we decided on a place called Ellis Beach - north of Cairns. Incredible! We are  parked 2 meters away from the beach, I'm actually listening to the waves as I type this and the boys are asleep. One side of us is golden sands and the other is a rainforest with a beautiful mist on the top. We unpacked and chris was finally able to eat his chicken pasta as he had had no fork the whole time, he'd carried that pot of pasta for 8 hours hahaha. Then headed straight for the pool (can't swim in the sea because of killer jellyfish - nice) had a beer and a good chuckle to ourselves. Chris and I washed all our clothes in the laundrette onsite, they even had a dryer - bliss. We then settled and had little nap. 

We woke up to heavy rain but as it was so hot we tried to keep all the windows and doors closed and just have the AC on, yet the battery had gone flat as we had left the AC on whilst napping. so we then opened the windows but that led to huge leaks, the only option was for us just to have the boot open. There were then lots of bugs so we all sprayed ourselves with bug spray and tried to get back to sleep. Josh being on the top bunk was boiling not to mention there was a continuous tapping of the rain on the roof ventilator, so josh came down and slept with me and Chris. Three little bears wrapped up snug! It remained boiling but no AC and we couldn't open the windows still, so the boot has been open all night. I'm smiling as I type this. Josh and I went to sleep in our swimming gear and Chris his boxers, what a sight all three of us make ha ha

Its hot right now even at 4am but thankfully the rain has stopped. A man is coming to fix the campervan at 6am, so I think I will pop for a shower and then we will all have eggs and beans on toast. Heading up to Port Douglas today to try and find a water park or anywhere we can have a good swim :) the perfect start to our month together :)
