We are now in Sihanoukville! We have been here for 4 days now. When we arrived the mini bus dropped us right outside our hotel which was a first! We walked in and it was so pretty. It has so many little cute seating areas and they have loads of books and DVDs you can rent for free! They have a restaurant downstairs but it's far too expensive which is a shame! Our room is actually nice and has wooden furniture but again no actual shower just a shower head! One of the receptionist showed us a map of the city but warned us not to walk around once it gets dark... Slightly worrying! We walked around and found literally nothing... No shops, no restaurants no nothing! We finally found a restaurant called Holy Cow and we have gone there every day as the food is amazing! We walked 40 minutes to find the closest beach which is serendipity beach. We've read a lot about it so we was expecting it to be nice. We were very wrong! We got there after the long walk and it was just awful. All the bars along the beach were battered, old and rusty. The staff all looked drugged up and weren't polite. The next day we decided to get the hotels free tuk tuk to another beach called The Independence Beach. When we got there it was bright sunshine and it was actually a very pretty beach but had hardly nothing on it and we stupidly didn't bring any beach wear with us. We had breakfast there which was really nice in front of the beach. Tom went in the sea with his jean shorts on! It was very nice but we had to wait around until 3pm to get picked up and it got so hot. Tomorrow we are doing a 12 hour bus journey up to Siem Riep which we are both excited about!
