Alice Springs (23.07.2012): The road from Devil's Marbles to Alice Springs is approximately 400km. We made a stop at Wycliffe Well first of all which has a reputation as being a hot spot for UFO sightings. It was a rather strange place.

After a stop at Ti Tree to swap over driving we continued down the Stuart Highway. It is crazy that we have barely left this road. The scenery is getting monotonous now. It really is such a long straight road, most of the time you do not see any other vehicles. It makes for an easy journey though.

We arrived at Alice Springs at around 13:00 checking out the town and replenishing our supplies - making sure we got some beers in for Adam's birthday. Alice Springs is much bigger than any of the other 'towns' we have been to recently. It is quite refreshing to be amongst civilisation again! We are now about half way down between Darwin and Adelaide. It's been 7 days. 14 days left to reach Melbourne. We sure will miss our little campervan when we have to give it back. I want to buy one at home now.

After a tour around Alice Springs we found a nice campsite for the night. We have power which means we can use our microwave - jacket potatoes and beans it is.
