Day 17: Koh Samui: our first day on this island began with a thunderstorm; something we hadn't experienced in many months! The rain was intermittent all
day but that didn't stop us from renting scooters and exploring the entire island (we rode the entire circumference). We stopped at a viewpoint and at a waterfall and during lunch the skies opened up and we got absolutely drenched coming home. Overall a good day on the scooters and on Koh Samui.
Day 18: We awoke to a flooded bathroom and water on the main floor of our villa...it did not stop raining all night long! We still had the scooters for the day so we ate breakfast and then headed into Chaweng to do some shopping. The rain didn't stop the entire time so the girls decided it would be a good spa day. After a few hours in the mall we were back on the scooters in the pouring rain to go back to the hotel. We hit some flooding right away and got swept up in some massive puddles, the scooters did well but got waterlogged close to the hotel so we had to get off and push them to higher ground, try and start them and get home to safety. It was a pretty cool adventure but one we did not want to repeat. We decided it would be a good night to stay in and stay dry. Tomorrow we pack up and leave for the airport to go back to Oman. It was a great Christmas journey around Thailand and Cambodia but we are definitely ready to go home!
