We had a great first two days in Bali! The weather has been great. It is so humid here, the heat just sucks the energy right out of you, which was just fine for us...sitting by the pool and relaxing at Waterbom Aquatic Park.

We spent our first whole day at the resort just lounging by the pool, Layla went to kids' club and we took a day to decompress. We also met with our airport driver to discuss tour options for the next few days.

Layla met lots of friends from all over the place, mostly Australia. Some favorites were Erin and Holley. We had a great first day and were super-excited to get to Waterbom tomorrow.

Monday was Waterbom, the 5th best waterpark in the waterworld and first in Asia. We got there at about 9:00 and had a great time going on all of the slides with small line-ups. The crowds started to grow closer to noon and we found it to be a good time to hit the lazy river and chill by the pool. At about 3:00 Layla and I decided to head to our last slide of the day. Halfway up the stairs we were turned around by park staff as the lightning was getting very close. Not long after, the torrential tropical rain started. We waited it out in a cabana and were very amazed at how much rain fell in such a small time. After the rain subsided we headed for the exit to go back to the hotel for a shower and get ready to head out onto the town. We went shopping and found some 'bargains' at some little stalls. Mama Sandra was one of our favorite vendors. We are sure we were getting ripped off, but it was fun nonetheless. We are looking forward to our elephant ride tomorrow morning at 9:00!
