With a big day on the cards we set off around 10am and head off on the great ocean road, stopping at a beach which is full of school kids and buses out bodyboarding. We're amazed at how much more fun their field trips must be - imagine a day off surfing with your mates as part of the curriculum eh!?
We head off in search of the twelve apostles - it's a busy area but easily accessed via boardwalks. They are stunning, no longer twelve of them standing probably more like 8 but they are so impressive and we get loads of cheesy windswept shots.
As we leave we decide rather than staying overnight in a local campsite we will make tracks for Melbourne itself as the journey has not been as bad as we thought. 10 hours after heading off this morning we arrive and do a bit of shopping - yes it's beer but we are staying wih Jacqs sisters relatives so there's bound to be a tipple! ;)
The Porters are the most welcoming family, John is from sion mills and his wife Kathy is a Greek Ausie, they have a lovely sports & dance mad daughter Helena who makes us both feel very very lazy with her incredible activity diary. We are delighted to find we have our own double room with a comfortable bed for our stay - bliss!!!! A few beers later and the craic really starts to flow as we hit Johns man cave - Queen is blaring and John & Matt are air guitarists extraordinaire in Johns man cave and Kathy and Jacq are nattering away - it's a brilliant night!!!! Having only met them today we are really made feel at home.
