So, we wake up today and discover that both of us have been eaten alive!! 10 bites each we obviously made great dartboards in the night. We make tracks for another site today to save the cents!

So, we book a 2 night stay at Palm Cove, 20 mins north of Cairns much like port Douglas it's quite a posh tourist area on the beach - looks lovely and quiet but a bit too remote for us -but you can't complain at getting it for a bargain $26 a night. It doesn't have all the fancy trimmings that Coconut resort had but it's grand - sure aren't we having it too easy for supposed backpackers roughing it!!

Jacq cooks up pasta Bolognese - it's a juggling act trying to cook whilst swatting flies and Mosquitos but she gets the hang of it. Earlier today Matt got himself a guitar from a music store in Cairns so he can build on his repertoire so he strums a few tunes while Jacq cooks her slimming world special and then it's time to leg it into the front seats of the van where the cutlery and salad is waiting - bug free and air conditioned :)

The heat at night has been a real mission. It's so muggy and humid during the day the nights are the same and we wake sweating confined to a fairly small space, the fan supplied isn't fit for a fairy so we plan to swap it tomorrow as were literally only getting 4 hours' sleep. Aw ... smallest violin etc.

So ... Dinners served and demolished - a night spent chilling watching amusing Australian tv is on the cards all excited for tomorrow's big trip!!
