Today is Grand Turk day! It turns out to be an island resort, but none like we have ever experienced and we have a blast! They have a bar pool area which is packed called margarita ville! The cocktails are strong, so strong, and the music is great - the craic is mighty!!! We meet two sisters Judy and Sheila from Boston, they crack is up!! We have a great laugh with them and meet their new friends Peggy and Paul and then Sheila starts a competition of balloon popping. Little do we realise that this competition is soon to involve the whole ship and Matt & Jacq are going to be starring in it. Judy initiates the competition and of course volunteers our services.
Basically, Matt has to sit down and hold a note without a breath while Jacq runs to and fro popping balloons by jumping on him - he manages pretty well!! We come joint fist overall achieving 4 balloons and sharing the prize with a lovely couple Amy & Joshua Lunsford.
The day gets crazier with a 50-year-old robust lady randomly performing splits - although her age seems to change each time she talks to someone else, Jacqs doing a jig (it's awful) and lucky us we get lumbered with a lady who's so wasted her family left her behind and she is not making that boat without help - so we take an arm each and lead her onboard. They suspend her card for 24 hours because of the overly merry state she is in, ironic as they don't half encourage the drinking on board! She is a nice lady and with her daughters who apparently tend to scatter once she stops funding them (lovely!).
We put her to bed and head back to our room to get ready for an elegant night - after a nap we're donning our best clothes and enjoy a lovely dinner and some live music dancing the night away with Judy, Sheila and Debbie - Debbie and Gerard are a lovely couple we met from Nova Scotia.
