Not much needs to be said for the three days spend in Panama city trying to recover from some mysterious infection. It mostly involved hiding from the world in a dark hotel room and watching enough American news channels to instill a fear of almost everything, especially vicious man-eating bears, into me.
Finally we did leave and made it to Boquete, a small town somewhere in the Panamanian wilderness where it rains every afternoon without fail. At least we had Pancho, the slightly mad owner of our hostel to entertain us. When we arrived, he seemed to be getting ready to sleep, yet he still bounced out of bed wearing only a pair of shorts and proceeded to run around the hostel making up our beds without a moments rest.
We got up too late to do most of the activities on offer in Boquete though we did make it to some hot springs. We arranged with the taxi driver to pick us up afterwards, however he failed to show and as expected the rain started on cue. We were also in the middle of nowhere and didn´t even know which direction we were supposed to take so the idea of hitchhiking failed. It was only when a taxi arrived bringing a fridge along with it about two hours later that we were able to make it back to town and not have to sleep in a windy bus shelter.
