Hey you two....
Sounds like you're having an awesome time, I am very jealous - as are the remaining Stokey-students who I keep updating with your movements.
One thing I do want to know.....is NZ like wales (obviously not weather-wise), but terrain, sheep and sheep related farming antics - hehe!
Keep the journal updates coming...and most importantly, keep having a great time,
Catch up soon,

Hi there you Guys! Sounds like u are still enjoying a fab time! Crumbs you are so tanned (Liz!). Come on, catch up Jack! Only joking! Well, glad to say, finally, aftrer 6 weeks of this stupid chesty cough/cold/ear infection keep returning and a course of Amoxycillin I am feeling much better, John and Laura and adam keep sneezing intermittently, but of course, not had it anything like I have! Had to spend the whole of the other Saturday in bed and watch film after film (including Harry Potters Prisoner of Azkaban which was ace and made me feel soo much better!). By the end of this week apparently we are going to be freezing our socks off cos gonna be down to -9!! Brrrr! Duvet here we come! Laura lies in a sleeping bag now on the sofa with the heating on full! Wots she gonna be like then? Oh to be so skinny!!!!
Anyway, really writing to say hope u enjoy a lovely birthday 2mrrw Liz and not to get too drunk! Shame they wudn't let you in to that nite-club bah humbug!
The Granny flat will b finally finished on Fri and cant wait for you to tell me wot u think! We are really pleased and hope Johns Mom and Dad will be happy there. John has been at their bungalow all morning and has just foned to say is taking him into Priory 5 at Sandwell Hosp after speaking to the Macmillan Nurse who has been so brill to us/them. Hopefully only for a couple of days to drain his lung off again, ad that shud ease his difficulty in breathing now. Fingers crossed.
Anyway u guys, take care, miss u lots Liz, bet u are seeing some fab jewellery you will have to tell me all about and I will c if I can try to emulate! Oh! by the way, your Moms schoolhave been very kind in offering Laura the chance of some work experience 1 day a week in the Summer Term! She's thrilled! Spk soon,
much love us all xxxx
Andy/dad
Dear Jack and Liz,
Sorry to have been out of touch for so long, but I have still not shaken off the stupid cold I have had since Christmas. Most of the last month I have been feeling about as groggy as Jack sounded on the ‘phone on Christmas morning.
I think I am losing a sense of the narrative of your journey. Your pics and diary entries are all beginning to blur. Let’s face it, it’s just one long beach-party, init ? Very impressed with the white sand beaches on Fraser Island. Just like Hartlepool beaches after a spillage from Tioxide.
But how come Liz is looking more tanned with every photo, while Jack appears to be getting paler (especially on Jan 16) ? Is this why Liz appears to be acquiring so many new boyfriends ? I can’t really see Jack’s Che Guevara tattoo very clearly on the photos - can you take some close-ups ? Thank you for not including any photographs of ‘toileting in the bushes with the dingoes’.
Nik, Britta and I went to Pete Chall’s 50th birthday last weekend, which was held in a castle in the wilds of Northumbria. Of the 80 people there, we were pretty well the only ones unable to play the fiddle. We felt rather naked without one. Still, Nik and Britta threw themselves into the dancing. Unfortunately, the Norman idea of central-heating didn’t do much for my cold.
I am off on the road again over the next few weeks, working in Birmingham, Southampton, South Shields, Stockton, London, Chester-le-Street and St Albans. Charl went back to Manchester on Sunday. She has exams this week.
Last Monday I was at Anfield - honest ! - trying to persuade some Scouse teenagers to write poems about football. My classroom was an Executive Box. Apparently, they only cost £120k for 3 years. You could buy several houses for that. Several terraces in parts of Liverpool. I stayed in Liverpool on Sunday night and went out for a meal with Joe. He and his mates are heavily into a political version of Champ Manager, in which you have to run for US President. He says there is a UK version.
This will have to do for now, as I am about to SNEEEEZE ! That’s better.
Come back soon and come back safely.
Lots of love,
Dad/Andy

Hi guys! Happy New Year, hope you have a wonderful year. Thank you very much for the bracelets, they're really nice. South Africa was good, nice and hot but I'm sure where you are you are enjoying the same kind of weather as we were. Hope you are still having a great time. I've been offered a place at Chester!!! Sooo excited! can't wait. Thanks again. And all our love. Limpho and Hopz

Not alot to report from Avo. Andy's still coughing and sneezing. He's really fed up as he's now had this illness for 3 weeks and is convinced despite my reassurance that he will never get better. Ken rang this morning saying he was needed for the 5-a-side game as Carlos had a problem with his car, so he went but said he spent most of the time resting his hand on his thighs coughing. Meths lost 3-0.
Grandma Jean has moved to her new house, Andy and Al went down to help with the move which invovled shifting a load of boxes and making numerous trips to the dump. They were at the dump so often that they were mistaken for staff, twice.
Charl is still here trying to revise or at least that's what she tells us. I still wonder how anyone can really study effectively with Friends or Eastenders on in the background and an MSN conversation going on as well. I don't know, the youth of today.
A week to go now before the new struture is out at work.I'm not going to apply for a job I don't want to do, so am preparing myself for what might come up but not panicking just yet. Well only a bit.
We're going to Featherstone Castle next weekend for Pete Challoner's 50th birthday, it sounds grand, but we have been advised to take our own sheets and duvets so we're not quite sure what to expect. Did you know that Mike Wilson and Anna are having a baby?
Pleased to hear you have managed some more diving, the sea sickness sounds grim though Liz.Didn't Jack have any?
A belated Happy New Year to you both. love Nikki

Hi Liz and Jack
It,s Sunday and it,s raining yet again. Dad is trying to finish the tiling in the kitchen but the rain is slowing him down (not raining in the Kitchen, he needs to use the wet cutter outside). Back on the diet this week as I put 5 pounds on over Christmas. Should have kept off the chocolate. Have been looking at the New Zealand book and tying to work out some kind of itinery. Your dad has spoken to somneone from work who has given us some tips. We will need to speak to you soon about how much time you want to spend with us as you will have done the South Island by the time we arrive. It won,t be long now and we need to decide where we are sraying or if we are going for a camper van. I think I may need to bring you anothe fleece and one for jack as it looks asif it goes cool at night . You will have to send us a list of what you want (haribo for Jack???)
Love Mum
