Easter in March is brilliant because it's more likely to be beautiful weather - and 2008 didn't let us down.

I went camping with Clare and Warren and their two kids to Kaiteriteri, on the edge of the Abel Tasman National Park. The four days were stunning - sunshine warmth and there was plenty to do.

Saturday I spent on my own, leaving on a water taxi at 9am for a day in the Park. The taxi took me the entire length of the National Park to Totanarui, stopping off at sights such as Split Apple Rock and Seal Island to pics. The cruise took 2.5 hours and showed off the stunning coastline. It's very similar to the Sounds, which is not suprising.

On its way back down the coast, the taxi dopped me to Bark Bay to walk what is supposedly the prettiest part of the track because it goes through forest. It was a fairly easy track that was supposed to take 2.5 hours to Torrent Bay but only took 2. I then walked on the high tide route to Anchorage which was another 2 hour walk but only took 1 hour 20. Again, quite similar to the Anikiwa end of the Queen Charlotte Track.

It was quite busy but for Easter weekend not as busy as I would have expected.

On Sunday, we drove 20 minutes to Mapua for the Easter Fair which was a bit disappointing. We wandered around for about 2 hours but came away with nothing. The rest of the afternoon I spent relaxing with a good book while Clare and Warren attempted to wear the kids out at the beacj - it worked and then crashed quite early. Time for us to enjoy a few drinks before we crashed as well.

Definitely like to go into the Abel Tasman again, maybe do kayaking, which looked a lot of fun.
