awww dammit millwall got owned, no money in the post for me then i'll bet. :( glad you liked the msg phil- i aim to please. Kath, nazca lines sounds pretty amazing, i'm jealous... Done the real big boy yet tho, the Inca trail??? hope its as good as we thought it would be. Currently in ningaloo barrier reef on the west coast of oz, its pretty wicked, west coasts answer to the barrier reef. could go and swim with some whale sharks but its about 120quid and im not too fussed. :) general consensus is- thailands snorkling was better but this is still pretty damn good...

ah glen that message was touching!! ive never witnessed that side of you hee hee good on ya bud, it was like in a s***e soap when you read a letter and the persons voice is in ur head, marvellous! thats gotta be one of the better jobs u could be doing? for what they offer travellers because i'm sure your all just thrown into the same category: 'bloody foreigners' all be it foreigners with degrees, but to them ur all just kosovans!!! probably not true, i'm not quite sure where im going with this but anyway, where was i not sure, new sentence. i suppose with ur lack of dollar it was inevitable u were gonna part company, tell u what, if my bet on milwall to beat united comes off, i'll split the winnnings 50/50 with u/ send an aid package (pasta n sauce is all u need) c'mon the lions, stay well

Mwaaaah, Glenny, flew over the Nazca lines today. You should have seen me when the condor came into sight... almost fell out of the plane in excitment. Not quite the same as seeing it from your very own golden condor, but hey, sometimes you have to take second best. Can't believe you aren't going to make it to South America. Ah well. Congrats on the job anyway, make sure you do get to Tokyo and buy Nick a beer or two if you can. So let's see, that's the job with Freshies I got you, the job in Japan, more or less, hmmm. I would say you need to indulge all my stupid questions about why my pooter isn't working forevermore, no? Love, Kathrynxxxx

For a long time now i have been running out of money. When i started this trip i knew i would have to work somewhere along the way to get money to travel and i was hoping to do this in Australia. However optimistically i was throwing together my budget when i was planning this in England i always knew it would be a miracle if i made it through to south america. I have tried to get work in Australia, i really have, but it seems as if this country continues to conspire against us and in a place where backpackers are a dime a dozen- the farmer is king. Crap pay, crap work and even the government are happy to chip in and kick you in the nuts with a 30% backpacker tax. Many times in the last few months i have asked myself what am i doing here with a degree over the other side of the world cleaning hostels, picking apples and phoning strangers up to buy mobile phones. But what choice does a humble backpacker have when a country is set up like this to tell the backpackers effectively 'well you cant get any better job so if you dont like it leave'. To those that stay and grin and bear it, you have my upmost respect. I however have decided to call their bluff and proven that something else can be done :) It is therefore with mixed emotions that i am annoucing that i have managed to get a job teaching english in Japan. Mixed emotions because i am finally happy that i can see a light at the end of my financial problems, albeit one that will enable to me to continue my trip working in a manner that wont drive me crazy and will mean i feel i am doing something productive with my life. Mixed emotions also in the fact that whilst i am happy that i can now probably go travelling up the west coast of oz (the last bit of oz i really care about seeing), it will now mean that i shall not be going to south america with simon. Its been a hell of a rollocoaster ride since we left and the fact that we've managed to stay together so long has been nothing short of a miracle. Simon now believes in some sort of destiny, that we all have our seperate trips to make, be it Lee travelling oz round the other way, me teaching in Japan or him going to South america. I have to say that i am slowly coming around to his way of thinking. I shall now probably come back to England via Asia riding high home i hope on the trans-siberian express and back through eastern europe. I shall be 23 and will have had teaching experience in Japan and hopefully be able to speak a fair bit of Japanese. I would have never guessed that things would work out this way myself if someone had asked me in the beginning- but therein lies the fun of travelling :P

Damo, have found you a Kangaroo gonad pouch....somehow! email me the address you want me to post it to and i'll get on it. Not sure how much postage will be but should be about 10 quid in total for pouch and postage.... Just send a cq or something to my Dad and he can pay it into my account.
