Does anyone still read these any more? I hope so or i'm wasting my time i guess. Got to sydney a few days ago and have so far mangaged to get a flat with si and a job albeit only for a couple of days at the moment. Sydney seems nice enough, reminds both of us of London a bit to be honest, a lot bigger than any other place we have been to…
Hat Yai, mythical city on the south border of Thailand and Alex\'s spiritual home. Why you ask? Could it be the open sewage systems running down the streets, or the complete lack of anything cultural, possibly both yes, but I suspect it has something more to do with it being a place where the Thai Wiskey flows like water and even dream boys like Alex have a chance with the ladies, being the only farang. For as they say, in the land of the blind... Thus subsequent travel southward…
Thus subsequent travel southwards through Malaysia has frequently been met with a now legendary groan of \'pff it\'s no hat yai\'.So follow Alex in his quest to find a better place than Hat Yai. Will he ever find happiness or a lady again? For those of you, like me, who simply dont care, there\'s plenty of funny photos and hopefully lots of messages- so keep in touch and up to date with what we\'re doing through this webbie. Enjoy!Glen, Simon and Alex.

Dear Glen, I start work at DEFRA on Monday. I remember talking to about it in Adelaide: going for a career in Environmental Politics. Looks like I'm doing it. Hope all is well in Japan and look forward to seeing you and Akiko soon. It has been a while since I was last on this site, brings back a lot of good memories. Verity sends her regards.
Jo

Just read your message of 14th Feb. Never mind you tried and it's the thought that counts. Where are the photos you promised. Hope you are keeping OK and still enjoying yourself. Easter and your birthday are fast approaching although to look at the weather today you would think Christmas was coming - blizzards etc. Any idea when you will be back in the UK?
glen
well since it appears my fellow travellers have given up posting photos on here i will re-double my efforts to keep you entertained. i just got back from four days travelling alone in South Korea, back to what now undoubtably seems like home in japan- just in time for a valentines day dinner with the gf ;) Being a born romantic i pulled out all the stops and bought a nice bunch of flowers only to be informed by kiko that these are the flowers you buy in japan when someone passes away! doh. anyway photos on the way soon....
glen

Mr Speck
I was sure you left in February! Hope everything is going welll out there. Its nice to have the others back (although Lee's gone to York already) but it's not quite the same going to the Brush without you playing Metal Slug!
Lynn
Hello Glen - your Dad said 'come home soon' - what he forgot to mention is that there is nowhere for you to kip!! Seriously though hope you are keeping well and enjoying yourself.

Well Jan 19th was the anniversary of the day that me, alex and si first stepped on the plane to Bangkok. Alex is out of the country again but it seems i was the only one to make a whole year away unbroken! As usual it seems to have gone quickly in some respects and slowly in others. I have lots of good memories and im still waiting for Si and Alex to get some new photos on soon!!
Jo
Happy New Year Glenny!! Hope you had a good one. Went to Boardwalk in soho, but they have stopped making my favourite pink cocktails.......... Noooooooooo!!! Jo x

Glen-sensei!! Wax on... wax off - still am recovering from the fact that the Japanese have never heard of the Karate Kid!! Huff HOW did that happen?? Thank you for your christmas pressies. Kathryn promptly stole the first dice man book. however I have managed to retain the sequel, so she'll need to swap it back at some point. I will have my own email address again soon but last time I gave you my email address I got a wurm... mind you the organisation that I work for now has no firewall to speak of, so we've basically got every virus going. Nice. Good to see that you haven't grown a second head from visiting Hiroshima. Christmas was better than I thought it would be actually. We did miss you, but it wasn't too painful. Yeah - as julie said the desert lasted a lot longer on boxing day. She did her best to finish up the pavlova, but she's not a master like you are. Mum also provided selection boxes and we wistfully thought of you. Some of mine was eaten by a grabbing Ellie... although I have a sneaking suspicion that it was Kathryn that ate my Freddo and not Jessica... Bah - who knows? I'm very jealous of Katie La Roche as she had her brother home for the holidays. Blick..... AND we didn't have any snow in sunny southend. Mum and dad bought the most pathetic looking Christmas tree ever. They got stuffed by the garden centre salesman who told them that the trees have a 50/50 chance of surviving til the next year if you plant them in the garden.... I got home on Xmas eve, and the tree looked like it wasn't gonna survive this year - let alone make it til next year!! Also I your garland hanging handiwork round the fireplace was missed this year. Considering we don't have a fireplace though i guess it doesn't really matter. We went to the Liddiards for christmas morning. The usual gang was all there... was quite exciting actually - Olly is doing perfoming arts or something and he's good. Kathryn and I made him perfom for us like a circus monkey - vaulting and sommersaulting over Nick and Robbie. Was entertaining. Olly looks like the fourth member of Busted now with his long hair. He was quite offended when I told him this and corrected me by telling me he was going for the 'McFly' look. Whatever. I'm obviously not as hip as I used to be. Do you know who McFly are??... you prolly don't actually... think they have only arrived this year... hmmm. I'm really really missing you glenny. Will try and get over to Japan for Golden week or whatever that is. I'm going skiing end of feb, and then south of france mid April , so May time would be good...
Say hello to Kiko-chan for me - looking forward to meeting her in the summer!! Hope you've told her all about us, and what to expect!! Well boy - glad to hear and see that you are very happy. I'm happy for you too - but you are such a long way away... And I can't even go into your room any more and smell the Glen essence that was still wafting faintly... well I could - but I think that would be called 'breaking and entering'... still work on the house is starting today and we'll all have rooms again once more!! Hoorah!! when the rooms are done I may go and spray some Lynx in one of the rooms.... Hope everything continues to go well for you out in Japan - keep safe and well my sweetie pie. Happy New Year to you and Akiko if I don't speak to you before then. I love you Glenny. Jo xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
