Greetings from Brisbane,
Thanks again for the messages, mum hope u feel better soon, im sure having ur fave youngest daughter home in 4 days will certainly help! Give the doggies a mahusive snuggle from me as I am missing them all lots and lots!
So, having arrived in Brisbane yesterday we settled into our hostel and its nice to be able to call a place home for a few days and do some laundry and all the boring things like go shopping. So having done shopping and laundry we headed out to the local backpackers and student bar for a pint and steak! Oh the life we backpackers lead eh? Steak with pepper sauce only $7! Bargain! We then found the internet place and updated the blogs, as uve already seen!
So today, we got up bout 9ish and went and made some brekkie in the communal kitchen, me not being one for stressing myself out with the cooking had a yogurt and some toast!Although the toaster did have a mind of its own and completely confused me! We then got showered and sorted and headed into the city with Lee as our tour guide as he had been swatting up on all the things to do and the history! First stop was the bank to get some cash out of the machine as the woman said it would be easier that way! Neway we then headed to buy an all day bus and ferry ticket which let us get on the city cat ferry where most of the pics were taken today. This was a trip up the river that runs round the city and the skylines were fantastic!
After hopping off of that we walked round a bit of the city and then jumped onto a bus up to Mount Coot-tha, which had fab views over the city centre, the pics are also on here. We were then proper tourists and did some souvenir shopping where Lee bought a didgeridoo and is trying to learn how to play it, much to the pain of everyone else on our floor!
I then went and bought some havaina flipflops which I am soo pleased about cuz they are really expensive on ebay! Oh and I had noodles in a box! So, that's my first full day in the city the locals call Brisvegas! Its soo fantastic and the hustle and bustle is something else! Looks like NYC but on a bit of a smaller scale! We have decided not to do the Australia zoo as we have all done all the things that are available to do and it's a lot of money out of Kirst and Lees budget.
Gonna do some more sightseeing tomorrow and hopefully get some more souvenirs! Cant wait to see u all on Sunday, not long now guys, nearly home.Of course Callum u are a home comfort but in a much different way to mum! Missing u all, lots of love and hugs, me xxxxx
