It is a travelling day today so I can be forgiven for no photos! However, how could I not share this wonderful picture of Teddy :-) Something tells me I am missing him more than he is missing me! Thank you Dad, Jane (& Dom) for doing such an ace job looking after him.

Today I had a leisurely breakfast with plastic knives and forks and no brown sugar - Nan would never have approved. I have had many chats with Nan whilst ive been wandering around or sat on a beach she is here with me every step I take - just as she would have wanted. Ive even found myself looking at fridge magnets she would have liked - rest in peace beautiful lady.

I then went to my little bit of public beach I found between two posh hotels that was hidden and started planning things to do on Maui. I am at the airport now and have read about five different magazines - you can do a trail with a local person that is run by a not for profit company which I am going to try and do :-) Ive worked out where to have a surf lesson - they guarantee you will stand up on your first go- this could be a cheap lesson!!
I wont give anymore away about my next 6 days :-)

So Oahu well that was an interesting place! Everyone I met or spoke too was from the mainland of the US. It is like they had lost their voices, when I got the public bus the driver just grunted at me turned his back and waved his hand when i tried to pay. i then had to make sure I was on the right bus using my map and trying to read the road signs through my sunglasses which wasn't easy as the sun had gone down!
Eventually I guessed where we were hopped off the bus and voila there was my hotel - go me!!
It turns out the driver didnt take my money as he doesnt carry change I had $3 and it was $2.5 now if he had just said this I would have said keep the change! The lady at the info bureau explained this and was lovely , then I had the dilemma do i tip her - it is not a natural thought and it is only now as I write this that I realise I probably should have... Ooops! At the airport just now they wanted to swab my hands - what do they do point at them and show me through mime what I should do .... Just speak!! It is like travelling somewhere with a different language but worse! Having said that the staff at the hotel and the car hire which went back without a hitch were all great.

I almost forgot getting petrol was fun you were supposed to pay by card but needed a zip code so i had to leg it in the kiosk then give her my card whilst i filled it up! For all i know she used it to buy herself some jimmy choos whilst it was with her!

It is 17:15 here and my flight is at 17:45 it takes 45 minutes. So this will be all from me today as by the time I get the next car and get to the air bnb it will be late well my bedtime anyway :-) xx

Ps i negotiated myself another car upgrade the ole beetle is back but this time it was for £30 :-) night x
