As walking dead we made it into Rome. Grabbed a train to the center of town, threw our packs on our backs and sludged across town to our Hostel. They let up drop our packs off there, but we could not check in our room till 3, so we grabbed a map and plotted our course for todays sightseeing while eating a ham and cheese sandwich at a local cafe. It was excellant. I also should say that our luck with awesome weather continues. Rome was sunny at 80 degrees with a slight breeze. Perfect walking weather. Beat down but determined not to waste the day we pushed forward and visited the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and several other historical landmarks. As it got closer to check in time we were running on fumes so we got back to our room and crashed for a 2 hr nap. Got up feeling refreshed so we found a little pizzeria down a side street and munched down. Feeling much better we decided to head over to a gelato shop. We sat outside enjoying the beautiful end of the day. Tomorrow we get up early to conquer the Coloseum and the Vatican. Through all of it we are having a great time and looking forward to tomorrow before heading for the coast and the beautiful Cinque de Terra. Headed for much needed sleep now. Until tomorrow...
