Well we landed in Munich saying goodbye to the green isle and embarked on the suffering of a 10 hr layover. As luck would have it when we arrived all the stores and restaurants closed in the terminal. We were of course starving so went looking for food, we stumbled on a sleeping area for people on layovers, comfy reclined seats, pillows, and phone recharging plugs. We were excited and figured lets go get some food and then come back and get some good nap time before our 6am flight. So off we go out the terminal to the main area, had a beer and some German food. Fat and happy we head back to get our much needed nap. Oh but wait, see the security area shuts down after 11 so no getting back in the terminal, no comfy nap area. Instead we had to camp out at the 24 hr McD's till 4 AM when they opened security back up. So we got no sleep and still had a flight and no check in to our room till 3PM. Talk about a long day and some grumpy people. We made it to Rome. But not in the joyous state we thought we would. We shall save that for the next blog.
