After a long travel day - about 14 hours, we arrived at Deva Samui about 11.00pm on Friday night, 30th March.
Had a lovely relaxing day yesterday, went for a long long walk, actually we were trying to find somewhere to change money but no luck! Didn't really matter as we had some money left over from a previous trip (abt $85) so that was enough for now. Later we came back the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool. The hotel is lovely, away from the hustle bustle, of course some would say too far away from the action I suppose, although Chaweng is only about 15 mins away. Our room is huge, a studio suite. Has a kitchenette and a huge bathroom with rain shower and balcony overlooking a pool with jacuzzi on it. Haven't had time to use it though :(
Very tired last night so had dinner here at the hotel- very ordinary though. Lauri had seafood, calamari was chewy and I had pepper with chicken (it wasn't chicken with pepper as there were more peppercorns than anything else)!!
We woke up about 5 this morning to a thunderstorm. It is now about 8am and still pouring. We are leaving here this morning for our ferry to Ko Tao, so looks like it may be a very wet trip over I think.
Now in Ko Tao - a very rough trip over!! On a big catamaran which probably made it a little less rough if anything, but plenty of people were seasick. Quite proud of myself as I was fine :) as was Lauri, although I don't think he ever would get sick.
It is very calm here now and no rain, still cloudy but warm. We are in the hideaway villa here which is lovely. Overlooking the ocean and not far from the pool and bar. And happy hour has just started so we will go down there to check it out soon!!!
Happy hour was a very good 2 hours - drinks were good. Met a very nice couple from Melbourne and had a few laughs. Then had a lovely dinner at the restaurant here overlooking the beach.
