Hey up guys and gals,
and big extreme hello goes out to you, you have to do that here. It's all extreme even the partying. We have now finally left Queenstown after 3 days turned into 6 and the earliest night we had was 1.45am. QT is a great place but we didn't really do alot apart from drinking by following the happy hours all the way around the town. They are very thoughtful that way. Our livers are beginning to recover and we have caught up on some sleep. We did all the bars, Winnies, Q lounge where we entered a pool comp. Claire took them by surprise and made it through to the 2nd round by beating one of the locals. They called her an anomaly. Wow! I was crap but hey, I'd reached my pool sweet spot earlier in the evening, we worked out it took me 5 JD's to get in the zone, after that it was all downhill. Sunday sesh! We also ended up a couple of times in World Bar, and Altitude. We aslo did the renowned Fergburger. Massive and very good. Days were spent just chilling and people watching and drinking coffee from starbucks. Met some awesome people, Kate, another Helen, Tommy, Carsten, Ganice, Fiona.
We drove down to Wanaka with another hitcher, Fiona from Liverpool, and after dropping her off and a spot of lunch we did the long drive through the Haast pass over to the west coast and then the very winding road up to Franz Josef town and Glacier. Claire's driving has been brilliant a real star, so I'm very happy to make her supper for her.
We did a heli hike today up the glacier, wow another mode of transport, Helicopter, a new one for me, yep pictures of all this will be finding their way onto the site very soon. The glacier was fantasitc and such a thrill to be hiking on it.
Back to Chateau Franz, our hostel for 2 nights, off out tonight with the guys from our room Pete and Fay, and hopefully to meet up with John who we met in Fiji and some guys we met in Queenstown. Piccies to follow soon.
Lots of love to all of you,
Pete and Claire xxxxxx
