We arrived in Paris today after an 8 layover in Venice that was very hectic to say the least. When we arrived, Venice looked amazing the weather was great and the sights were to die for. However, if you have been to Venice before you would know that it's expensive and crowded with tourists. Couple in the fact that the sun was beating down 32 degrees of energy draining sunlight. The day was doomed from the start. Don't get me wrong Venice was nice, the sights were amazing to see, but factor in we were sweating for 8 hours straight, and then had to catch a 14 hour night train to Paris; that had no air conditioning and broke down delaying it for 2 hours and to top it all off our 4 person sleeper cabin had now turned into a 6 bed sleeper. I now know what a sardine can feels like, 6 people with 6 different smells in a 6x10 area, equals disgusting. I think in total we went 35 hours with no shower, not quite a record but its a top ten for sure. Well maybe for catherine it was a top three. So please enjoy the photos I have posted the ones with smiles are from earlier in the day.
So we found our hostel quite easily and it's in a great location. We went and saw the Eiffel Tower, we didn't go up though because the top deck was closed, so hopefully before we leave we can do that. Tomorrow it's suppose to rain so we are planning to go to the Louvre and maybe the catacombs. So until then, Bon soir.
