Well we are now in Miami and have half an hour before we have to check out of the hotel and check onto the cruise ship to make our way home. We don't want it to end but are looking forward to being home...if that's not too much of a contradiction!
a few nights ago we took the mammoth 27 hour train journey from New York and it was surprisingly ok. The seats on Amtrak are huge and there is even enough legroom for Ian. To help you sleep they give you a pillow and there is a leg/foot rest that folds out from under the seat. Wrapped up in our sleeping bags, we were quite cosy and got a decent night sleep.
When we arrived in Miami was adopted a very lost and confused looking Columbian. We said he could come to our hotel where he would be able to call his cousin who was supposed to pick him up. We sat and chatted to him for a while to keep him company, we felt a bit bad for him! I thought that would be a bit of good karma stocked up but we must have done something to loose some because the clothes we had left at this hotel at the very start of our journey (A suit a dress for the cruise), had been thrown out!! I was so angry and it means we can't go to the formal evenings on the boat home! It also meant that we had to spend our last day in a shopping mall to get some shirts for Ian...the poor guy was not happy!!
Never mind, we have made it through the 5 months with very few problems and have had the best time of our lives. I will make one more entry when we get back, but for now, it's time for us to go and enjoy a bit of luxury for the next 9 days. :o)
