We left Caye Caulker today and headed for San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, the next island north. It was a sweltering hot day and we were feeling the effects from being on the water all day yesterday so we decided to hide in the shade for most of the day! We managed to cool off with a swim when the sun went down a bit.

We decided to stay only one night here as it is a very touristy, VERY expensive place...e.g. we found a painting in a gallery just like one we bought for 25quid, they were selling it for 180 under the line "it is an original by a mayan artist"...yes, we know, we met that mayan artist and the 20 other who are painting in this style all over Guatemala! That made us feel very smug (ours is better as well!), tee hee :o)

Not much to say for today, pretty much spent the day relaxing in the shade, swimming and enjoying a cool rum and coke on the roof of our hotel while looking out at the amazing view of the sea.
