Got the night bus from Flores down to Guatemala city. It saved a night's board but didn't get masses of sleep. Susanne slept like a log mind.
We had an interesting encounter at the coach stop before the bus arrived. A man pulled up in a car and asked if we were going to Guatemala city then on to Antigua. We said yes. He then said can I see your tickets. We said no. He said your bus isn't coming here it's across the bridge, intimating that we should get a lift with him across the bridge. We in a very British way declined to be kidnaped and said we were fine and would wait where we were. He kind of looked lost as to what to do for a second then jumped back in the car and off he went.
We looked at each other and burst out laughing at the inept kidnap attempt that we had just witnessed.
The bus arrived 15 mins later.
