So after driving 4x4's, motorbikes, and planes this week we thought we would try our hand on a boat. This week was our whitsunday sailing adventure. As there was many boats to choose from, from tall sailing boats, party boats, and racing boats, the choice was hard but in the end we decided to go on a dive boat to dive the great barrier reef before we get to carins because they are alot more untouched dive sites and it is alot cheaper. The boat we were on was could powerplay, a cateraman with a spa. It was very nice? It was class aswell coz we paid for just basic accommadation but got upgraded for free into a double room with dvd player, because there wasn't enough beds for everyone to go into basic, so that started off our trip well. On the first day we arrived at our first dive site, the visability in the water was very poor, but the dive was still good as we didnt go that deep so it helped us get back in the swing of things seen as we havent dived for 5 months. It was an early start the next day to get to white haven beach, the national geographic recognise this beach as the 2nd best beach in the world, we beat the crowd and had the beach to ourselves, it was amazing the sand is that white it dosen't get hot. we messed about for a few hours taking some mint photos before heading off to do our second dive. This dive was amazing, in a place called mantaray bay, the home of a friendly fish called george!! As soon as we arrived he was there waiting at the back of the boat, this is a queensland grouper, and no word of a lie it was bigger than hayley. the coral here was beautiful, i was having a real nosey around looking for nemo when to my suprise i looked under some mushroom coral to see a gray tip reef shark looking straight back at me, i was that excited i think i used 1/4 of my air, i managed to get hayleys attention so she saw him as well then i swam to the front to tell everyone else and they all got to see him aswell. Our third dive here was good aswell not as much cool fish but lots of beautiful coral. The food on the boat was amazing we ate like kings for 3 days there was so much there was always stuff left over. on the last night we decided we would get up before sunrise and do a sunrise dive as our last one. this was the best yet. the fish are so much more active in the morning and the water was very clear, the coral was just amazing. As we were surfacing from the dive the sun had just popped up from behind an island and was glaring through the water and just as we popped our heads above the suface we were met with the sunrise, a rainbow and the moon it was amazing, a really speacial way to end a speacial trip, it was perfect. We are now back in airlie beach wondering what to do next we really need to chill out for abit and stop spending, i think we are gonna go fruit pick for 2 weeks, then its off to cairns so not much to write about for the next few weeks.
love ya xxxxxxx
