Happy New Year everybody.

Finally got round to up dating the website, for those of you that are still checking on up dates. Sorry its so late wish you all a happy new year. Since landing in Sydney on the 2nd of Jan its been none stop.

First just an update on New years Eve in Christchusrch, we found out when we got there that there was a free party in a open square down a back street, sounds dodgey I know but it wasn't. Anyway it was supposed to start at 5 so we got there for abt 6 expecting it to have kicked off, the only trouble was, it was pissing it down! Cant really complain about the weather tho because all the other days when we were doing something the weather had been great. Coz there was no one there we decided to go for something to eat and then come back, after eating now about 8, there was still no one there and it had stopped raining, the poor DJ was playing to himself, we would off give him some support but the tunes he was playing were crap. Luckily there was a club just next to the square, so we ditched the cold and the crap DJ and spent the night in the club. The tunes were much better and there were other people in there. Coz the outdoor event was bring your own drink we had a bottle of vodka in my bag, we some how managed to get it into the club so had a good cheap night on vodka. You can safely say we saw the new year in, in good old burnley fashion by getting plastered, and having friendly abuse with the taxi driver coz i didnt have a kebab!!!

On to sydney, the madness started as soon as we got here, trying to find a place was a nightmare, Bentley had give us the address of the apartments where he had stayed so that was our first stop. The apartments were proper nice in a brill area, but they only had one available on 6 month lease which was disapointing and now our standards were really high on what we wanted to live in. After that we were offered a room with a double bed that was actually a single bed with a double mattress on it!!!! A double room that had bunk beds, and wait for it this is the best one, we were shown around the tallest building in sydney, it had a pool, gym, spa, virtual golf, squash, etc... it was mint, then we went in to this guys apartment and he said this is your room, it was on the balcony with a bed under a gazebo!!!! The rest were just dirty! We finally found a nice place similar standard to what bentley stayed in, its got 24hr security and reception, gym, spa, pool, suna, pool tables and table tennis. All our bills are included in the rent so we dont have owt to worry about. We live with a lad our age who is really sound, and a chinese guy whos mum owns the flat. We havent met this guy yet coz he is on work experience in a different county, so his mum has been staying there visiting sydney, it is all very odd, we cant work out what is going on, she comes and goes at odd hours and sneaks around the apartment like she is scared of us. She hasnt been back for the past to nights so we think she might of gone home, but some of her stuff is still about. It is all very very strange. If you could see the size of her or his room it would make you laugh, it has a bunk bed in it, that is it no space down either side, just a bunk bed.

So after settling down into the apartment buying everything we needed the crap started again trying to find jobs. The trouble is the rule has changed you can now work for a company for 6 months on a working holiday visa rather than 3 so companies want temps that will work for 6 and not 3, other interviews we have had have ended up being commision based only jobs there is no set wage, so we politely told them to shove the job up there arse. Haylz got there in the end, and has landed a dead easy admin job, she has started today. So while she is working away i am writing to you, but i am still looking and keeping my fingers crossed.

I will update again soon, we havent got any photos of exciting things to put on yet, i could take some of me trying to find a job but its not that exciting trust me!
