When I flew into Bucharest, Romania from Oslo, Norway a couple days ago, I was not happy. The airline lost my bag and it took three days to find my lost luggage. The airport luggage guy found my bag in China. I had to go buy all new clothes because it would take a couple days for my luggage to arrive in Romania. While I was out shopping I saw parts of Bucharest, The Palace of Parliament and went to the International Library. The fountains in front of the Palace of Parliament were so cool looking. I also went to the Movile Cave which was weird at first because the ceiling was so droopy. I got a piece of the ceiling at the gift shop. After leaving the cave I went to the International Library to learn about Dracula and the castle that people claimed to have said Dracula lived in. I went all the way to Transylvania (yes, this is a real place) and visited the castle and took a three hour tour which cost 30 Lei.
After an exhausting day, I went to eat dinner at the Grand Hotel. Dinner was a glass of water, mititei (mititie is just beef in chicken stock) and for dessert I ate Papanasi with Cranberries. Papanash (plural for Papanasi) are usually sweet cheese doughnuts. The food was great. I was heading to my room, when I found 20 Lei on the floor. That was my lucky day. When I woke up that morning I was sad to say this is my last day so I acted like a tourist and bought some tacky stuff from the shops just to have that feeling of a tourist. I made an extra trip to the Parliament Fountain and took a picture. On my last night, I ate lamb stew and Papanash again. I made my way to bed and tried to keep dreams of Dracula out of my head. Although this trip to Romania didn't start well, in the end was tons of fun. Next time I am in Europe I am coming back to Romania.
