We are headed south soon towards Kumasi. For the past day and a half we have been in Mole National Park in Northern Ghana. The first night that we were there, we sat on the hotel viewing terrace and watched elephants, monkeys and other animals congregate around the watering hole. Yesterday we got up and went on a two hour long walking safari through the park. After reading all my beloved travel books I stuck close to the armed ranger. I wanted to make sure if the elephants charged us that I was near the protection. Good news though we were only chased by 2 monkeys and that is a story for when I come home so you can see it with dramatic facial expressions and hand gestures. Other than being chased by monkeys the walking safari was absolutely amazing!!! We got unbelievable close to elephants, baboons, warthogs, and antelope. I took lots of pictures, although I'll have to start being careful with my camera battery. We are finding that most of the hotels around don't have extra outlets or enough additional electric power to charge our camera batteries. I hope we go to see the Larbanga mosque before we head to Kumasi today. I can't wait to see you all soon.
Love,
Jennifer

Mom Of course you were chased by monkeys. On our honeymoon Dad was chased by animals that he was trying to photograph. It must be genetic. Love you.
Jennifer You know that was in the back of my mind the whole time I was creeping towards a group of elephants in the water. Haha
