Well we reached the 9:30 bus but only on gmt time. We are still extremely jetlagged. We all slept for 12 hrs. We had another 2 hrs in the roof top pool. Dad read Gulf news which is the emirati daily newspaper which gives news from ecah of the regions that influence the gulf.
Then after lunch Dad had the bright idea of walkng into town in 40 degrees heat. After 1km we were all very tired and lost. Dad says it was because everyone was talking to him but I think it was because the roads dont have names in the main they are all numbered and some lesser ones are unmarked.
After about 3 km we reached Dubai musuem that was built into a fort. You explored the fort then went underground to a great exhibition on Dubai. When we came out we heard the call for evening prayer at the grand mosque which was right infront of us.
Next we were in the old Souq. A Souq is an area of narrow streets containing all the shops for a particular product. Here it was all fabrics. Then we saw the creek and it was very busy. It was dusk and for 1 dirham (17p) each we took the dhow across to the gold and spice souqs in a area known as Diera.
Everyone had never seen so much gold.
We caught the dhow back after exploring and the plan was to catch the bus but we stopped at an indian restaurant and had an amazing meal .
We walked to the main bus station but our bus didnt leave from there and by the time we walked to our bus stop everyone was telling us it was quicker to walk.
It was but we had one final energy stop for a can of root beer which we all never had before. But this one was special because it was called MUG.
Well the change in the 3 boys suddenly they were full of energy and they bounced home.... The side effect they couldnt sleep when they got back to the apartment.
The beach is planned for tomorrow along with the Maaaaall as Joe pronounces it
