Today woke up with shin splits from hauling my f..a.. up and down too many monuments and museums while wearing poor footwear. That's my excuse anyway. Today I was reading the Washington post when an article caught my eye about a man being arrested a block from the White House with guns and ammo in his car.A quick scroll through my memory confirms this occured when we were right there as we walked by the car and accompanying police tape. I further concluded because the lovely bride is chatty she saved us from imminent demise. I guess the rest of Washington will need to hear about "Lilly". H

Today, my loving sister, niece, bride and myself ventured into Washington to play tourist. So we drive 10 minutes to a park and ride, drop the vehicle off and hop on the metro, which is a 1/2 hr ride to downtown Washington. Once there, we went to the White House where a media scrum was huddled around some guy doing a media release, opportunity knocked and both Dominique and myself managed to photobomb the media scrum. Up early and anxious to be out on the road. We're like the cbc show The Littlest Hobo. Not raining anymore but the roads are so coated with salt, I was having trouble determining what was frost and what was salt .
