Day 8:
The itinerary for today was a leisurely drive around Cape Town and stopping by at certain points of interest.
We woke up at about 7am. A few of us counted and set aside money for the remaining days of our trip lest it may run dry if we didn't convene a "checkpoint" meeting to count it.
We then set off at 930am, in search of a nice place for breakfast. We headed towards Kalk Bay and chanced upon Olympia cafe and deli which didn't disappoint us one bit. Everything about it was nice, from the food to the ambience.
Satisfied, we went to Saint James. However, there wasn't much to see. And so, we drove off towards Hout Bay. The beach was nice and we stopped by to take pictures and admired the ebb and flow of the tides.
Then, we drove up to Chapman's Peak. It was an awesome view of the mountains and the ocean. Spent some time there taking pictures to capture the memories of its beautiful sight.
Noordhoek farm village was next on our list. But, it looked boring and we left shortly after we arrived.
Imhoff farm was next. And this farm was thankfully much more better than Noordhoek. There were much to do and firstly, we settled down in its Blue Water Cafe for some cakes and drinks. With lush greens, a small lake and the mountains at the background, and with great company of good friends, it certainly melted some of the tireness. After that, Jocelyn, Ethan, Emma and I tried camel riding. It was my first time riding on a camel. Well, though it only walked one around within its confined space which took only 8 min, I could now add to my list of experience.
On our way to Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope), we couldn't help but to stop along the coast when we saw the picturesque view of the oceans. It was just awe-inspiring to see the persistent waves, crawling ferociously and crashing onto the rocks. The beauty of the law of nature.
We missed the timing for entrance to Cape of Good Hope (Table Mountain National Park) by 10min. Anyway, we will go back there tomorrow as we heard that it is one of the must-see in Cape Town.
Our last stop of the day was V&A Warerfront, about one hour plus drive from Cape Point. After sauntering around the vicinity (oh, we saw seals and stopped to take pictures of them and with them from far of course), we finally settled in Waterfront mall for dinner. According to survey done by Denise, Jocelyn and Mei Teng, Cape Town Fish Market looked good and affordable. So, we had dinner there and not a bad choice indeed.
It was another one hour plus back to Simon's Town. When we arrived at the guest house, it was almost 1045pm. I wasted no time - washed up and then went to bed.
