Day 7:
The R&R - part of the mission trip - began today.
We woke up at 4am plus in the morning. The taxi came around 515am to fetch the whole team (except Michael who went back to Singapore today) to the airport to catch the domestic flight to Cape Town. The flight was about 2 hours and I think most of us slept in the plane.
When we landed at Cape Town around 915am, we went to Tempest car hire to rent two cars, one for the Ang family and the other for the rest of us. Our first stop was the iconic Table Mountain. It was a pleasant trip up the cable car and when we reached its pinnacle, its breathtaking view simply awed me. We spent about 2 hours to try to take as many photographs as possible; not wanting to miss any angle that boasts of its majestic panorama.
Next, we went to Spier Cheetah Encounter. We paid about R110 each to stroke the Cheetah and take photograph of it and with it. My first experience to be so close to a Cheetah. Within Spier's premise, there were wine tasting and we made it just in time before its counter closed at 430pm.
Before dinner, we drove to Marianella Guest House. When we arrived, it was stunningly beautiful. Lots of rooms plus a wonderful view of the ocean as well. Simply worth it for only R3,600 for three nights.
To end the night, we went to Seafroth restaurant for dinner which was only about 20 min drive from Marianella. The food was delicious. Only thing that didn't quite reconcile was the fact that there weren't many patrons; unlikely of a restaurant whose food and services were superb.
After dinner, we came back to the guest house. We just washed up and bedded down at about 1030pm plus. We were all very exhausted from the long day.
