Day 22:
Today is the last day of our holidaying. Gosh!! We've been away for three weeks. I miss home very much but at the same time, am also feeling the lackluster to get my "engine" going to face the stockpile of work, amongst many other things to handle in life.
Our morning began at 8am. We had MacDonald for breakfast. Then, we took a train and headed towards Monaco Monte-Carlo. The principality of Monte-Carlo was none like other places we've been so far. We took the city sightseeing tour bus for an excursion throughout the city. It was a small state and we covered the whole of it (on the bus) within an hour.
We dropped off somewhere near the casino to do some shopping. Then, we hopped on the bus again and got off at the station where it allowed us to take in the awe-inspiring and panoramic view of Monte-Carlo. We then had lunch near the port where heaps of yachts flaunted at its dock. During lunch, we also saw branded cars galore; one after the other, they just dominated the streets. It seemed as though the citizens of Monaco came from a totally different world from ours, by contrast.
After lunch, we took a train back to Nice. We dropped off some stuff at the hotel and headed towards Colline du Chateau where we climbed up to the top. Here, we caught a sweeping view of Nice. After taking some photos, we walked to the beach and took a nice stroll along it, admiring the clear waters and the tides that just rose and ebbed in their constant cycle.
Next, we did some shopping. And after that, we rushed to the beach again to catch the sunset which was simply beautiful. We then roamed around the streets but it was cold and windy and so, we decided to come back to the hotel to warm ourselves before our dinner.
We had dinner at La Cantine du Lulu. The quality of the food was good; the only thing was that the portion was a little small. Despite that, it was an enjoyable meal together.
We were back to the hotel and did our final packing. There are so many things that I'd miss about this trip. Apart from the sojourns and the various attractions that we visited, the utmost reason for having the mix of emotions - and the reluctance to go home - is the 24/7 of spending time with Emma, of discovering and rediscovering of each other. Inasmuch as this trip has benefited us, I hope that we will continue to kindle the bliss of our marriage. Even in times of facing the harshness of life's reality, we will still stand together, with the full knowledge that God will always be there for us and that we will always be there for each other. The holiday may end but in fact, it's only the beginning - and many more beginnings - of knowing her in all aspects and loving her in all respect.
Lastly, see you Singapore!!!
