Day 21:
Today was a day of transit - from Cinque Terre (Italy) to Nice (France).
We got up as early as 730am and after shower and packing, we began to move the luggages and drag them down the stairs. We settled our breakfast at the cafe just below Gianni Franzi.
Our journey:
1. From Vernazza to La Spezia
2. From La Spezia to Genova P.Za Princ
3. From Genova P.Za Princ to Ventimiglia
4. From Ventimiglia to Monte-Carlo
5. From Monte-Carlo to Nice
The total duration was about 6 hours. We were either in the train or looking for the correct platform to board the next train. We had our lunch - just pack and go - at Genova station while waiting for the train to Ventimiglia.
When we arrived at Nice which was slightly before 5pm, we went to the Information centre. Thank God and we were in the nick of time because the Information centre closes at 5pm. The lady at the counter showed us the direction to our hotel, Hotel Wilson, and gave us a map for our own navigation in Nice. The hotel was not very far from the station and we walked and dragged our luggages for about 15min before reaching.
At around 6pm plus, we attempted to walk to Rue Rossetti as there was a restaurant which was recommended by the website, called Chez Juliette. When we found the restaurant, it was not open. Undeterred, we walked to another restaurant under recommendation, called La Luna Rossa, along Rue Chauvin (very near to where our hotel was situated). However, it only opened at 730pm and we were early.
In between, we went to Galeries Lafayette to shop. Inadvertently, we "hurt" our purse strings once more. Not really true. It was gifts that we were getting for family and friends and for that good cause, we were glad to be able to bless them.
After our shopping, we went back to La Luna Rossa. The dinner was delectable and the experience was unforgettable. The food was extremely flavorful and I finished the entire dish, empty. It was real pampering after almost a whole day of transit.
We came back about 9pm plus and were just mucking around - facebooking and planning for the places to go the next day. We ended the night around 10pm plus.
