Well we have arrived in Vietnam safely after a 11 hour flight from Heathrow to Bangkok and then an hours wait to then jump on another flight to Ho Chi Ming.
once touching down we then went straight to the bicycle shop to get measured and fitted for our bikes. to say it was like a bike surgery would be an understatement, everyone had their own favourite bike item that they had brought with them to have it fitted, ranging from hand grips to SPD's (not a transmitted disease by the way) and the favourite saddle including myself who had a saddle that resembled something that had been removed from a tractor. So all sorted and tested we then went of to a restaurant for something to eat and all the die hards amongst went on the beers, a good or bad move, only tomorrow will tell.
Once fed and watered it was off to check into the hotel, a sh#t shave and a shower later we were out experiencing the sites and sound of the city and a visit to the Vietnamese War Museum, which was an eye opener I have to say, it was then back to the hotel for a briefing thus bringing us to the end of the first day, a long very long first day, most of us looking forward to some sleep and then off out tomorrow for the first days riding.
Oh yes and the traffic here is unreal, hundreds and hundreds of mopeds, incredible!!!
