Today, I have to admit, I was hungover. i'm annoyed because I missed the parade but there's a bigger one next weekend so I'll go to that.
All I have to talk about today, really, is the fruit. Fruta.
We went to Exito ( a supermarket- really huge, sells everything) in the afternoon. It was interesting seeing all the different brands of food. It was only after hauling 4 bags of water ( yeah.. bags) onto the trolley, that things started to get weird.
I wandered into the meat section. These colombians don;t waste anything. There was, of course, normal bits of the animals that we'd eat... however they also have... intestines, stomach, heart and tongue. (That;s of the cow, but also they have all of that with chicken too) I saw whole trays full of little chicken hearts... it was really bizzare.
Then we reached the fruit section. There was all sorts. Guanabana is a fruit thats spiky and green on the outside but white and fleshy inside. I like it :) They have Tomates de Arboles ( tomatos that grow on trees), papaya, guava (which I love) and Granadilla. Granadilla is... weird. I had no idea AT ALL that it existed. It's a very light fruit and is very smooth. You bang it on something and open it. Inside is a greyish jelly with seeds in. Its very sweet and you don't chew it, just swallow because the seeds are acidic. It's so strange, but so cool :)

I can't wait to try more fruit. :)
