On the Sunday I woke up and it was already really hot - the air here enever really seems to cool down. I slept in Ricardo's room, he's just given it to me, while he sleeps in his mums room. For breakfast I had omlette, toast (not really toast, it's like pre-toasted bread that you buy in packets) with spreadable cheese, chocolate milkshake and papaya. I had to turn down the papaya, as i didn't want to be ill again.
We headed out to the mall, all 4 of us, and then they bought me a sim card for my phone. I asked if they wanted any money but they refused. Then we went to Juan Valdez Cafe, (also in the multicentro) and they bought me a cafe con leche, basically a latte. It was so good. The coffee here is so nice. Ricardo gave me a bracelet from the cafe which has the colombian flag on it. :) One thing I noticed here was that there are armed security guards who stand near the atms. It was slightly weird but ricardo said its completley normal here. Then we said goodbye to Ricardo's dad, h got the bus to Bogota because he lives there during the week to work.
Later that day ricardo said we were going to see his friend ricardo so he drove to an apartment complex nearby. All the apartment complexes are very secure and you have to be buzzed in by the guards. When we got in there was a fiesta going on. Its almost the time of the carnival so there are many musical celebrations all over the city. There were traditional dances of older people and then some children too. It was really cute. I learnt about the traditional type of colombian music (bayoneta) and salsa. We drank beer and all chatted. AT one point there were about 20 of us. I really enjoyed it. We sat in the shade ( the colombians actively avoid the sun for long periods-and I don't blame them. Its easily 30 celcius in the shade). At one point Hugo convinced me to dance... little did i realise I was now entered into a dance competition. I only realised this when they said I couldn't sit down ( I was so hot!) Hugo taught me the tango and salsa. Anyway, after that we ended up in the final three and we had to dance one more dance. It was so hot haha! We came third, and apprently I have rhthym, which makes me a good dancer. I was very surprised at this.
We carried on drinking and chilling out and then someone brought out aguardiente. They drink it straight here - it's like sambuca. Everyone was passing round water bottles filled with it. It was quite odd.
At the end of the night I got hamburgers with Ricardo, his girlfriend Alejandra, and his mates. It was a good day.
