Friday 24th October - day 62
Goa
Finally we arrive in mapusa - straight away its aparent we are in the tropical climate of south india - lush vegitation, huge palm trees and dense tropical forests line the small dirt roads on the way to the hostel - as well as it being hot and ridiculously humid!
Jungle hostel, just down an alley off one of the main roads is just a 5 minute walk to vagator beach.
We see Alicia whose been here a few days and also sam the new zealand guy but he's leaving to paloem now. Josh is already taking full advantage of the complementary breakfast and after a shower we head to the beach with alicia, josh and vunky (indian guy). The beach supposedly isnt one of the best along the coast, and it is initially a little dissapointing but its so nice to be on a beach and out of the city we spend the rest of the afternoon all bobbing about in the sea. Even cows are chilling out on the sand and in the shade of the beach hut bars and restaurants.
Goa's beaches stretch over 106kms and we plan to get a scooter at some point over the weekend to explore as much as we can.
After lunch we walk back to the hostel and are caught in an outrageous downpour which is forecast to last over the whole weekend. Uh oh.
