We have spent the past four days at Wilsons Promontory National Park. It has been beautiful. We have been doing lots of bushwalking and while Archie spends a little bit of time in the backpack, the boys are holding up really well. I have been surprised at how far they can walk and how much they enjoy learning about the wildlife, trees and rocks. Roy of course is more than happy to discuss the "granite" of Wilsons Prom.
We have also enjoyed the beautiful crystal clear waters of Bass Strait (not as cold as I expected). As a result there has been plenty of swimming and the boys continue to enjoy swimming in the surf.
The boys were also very excited to see Yogi Bear at the Open Air Cinema. During the movie a wombat walked under Archie's chair and out between his legs. Archie reached down and gave him a little pat on the back. So for the next 10 minutes all we heard was Archie telling everyone "I patted him...". After the movie we walked back to our campsite and spotted a few more wombats.
Today the boys saw their first emus in the wild. It was a real thrill. Max has been really enthusiastic about taking photos and no doubt a camera will make the santa list this year.
Highlights: Squeaky Beach, Norman Beach, Mt Oberon Summit Lookout and the wombat visit during Yogi Bear.
