After a pretty wild and windy night at Peterborough we decided to rent a little cottage at Port Fairy for three nights.
We took the opportunity to get a few jobs done, like wash and vaccume the car/camper, several loads of laundry, some school work for Max and new tyres for the car.
It was a nice change being in a house, enjoying the luxury of bath, shower, toilet and laundry, but I did feel a little anxious having the boys sleep in another room. They felt so far away. In saying that, most nights one or both of them wondered in and ended up in bed with us.
Because Port Fairy was such a quiet little town the boys were able to ride their bikes in and around town every day. They also got to pick lemons, apples and peaches from the backyard garden (we were loaded up with about 15 lemons by the time we left).
On Thursday morning Archie went with Roy to get the new tyres fitted and pick up some groceries. Meanwhile Max and I went out for breakfast and played numerous games of noughts and crosses at the cafe. It was important for the boys to enjoy some time apart and also for Roy and I to have some "one-on-one" time with each of them.
We all really enjoyed our time at Port Fairy.
