The highlight of today was Max catching his first fish.

After spending about half an hour at the boat ramp watching the men and women scale and fillet their catch, Max and Archie were keen to go fishing.

The boat ramp and jetty are about 50m from our campsite, so it didn't take long before Roy and the boys had returned with their fishing gear. I decided to stay at the camper and start preparing dinner. About 20 minutes later Max came bounding across the grass yelling out to me. He had caught a fish. While the fish wasn't big enough to keep the excitment was enormous.

According to Roy, Archie was equally excited and offered Max words of encouragment saying " Reel it in Baxie...reel it in".

As I watched Max run back to the jetty I felt quite emotional. One of those moments you cherish.
