Hogarth Adventures!
Flying home to Good old England 22/12/08 11.30am Madrid Airport awaiting our 13.15 flight to Heathrow. Well here we are after nearly 365 days, 21 different countries, god knows how many buses, planes trains, automobiles and transport of pretty much any shape or form and the wonderful 10 hour Iberia wooden class flight from Rio. In 5 hours we will be home at the end of our dream world trip and blimey what a year it has been - Totally Unforgettable! From 1000km motorbike rides through the mountains of Vietnam to sailing away from the end of the world passing penguins, to climbing into Pringles tubes on the Bolivian Salt Flats, there isn't anything we missed or regret doing; it has been a lifetime of memories never to be forgotten. So how are we feeling now? Nik just went to the toilet and it flushed automatically scaring her stupid plus the bin for the toilet paper was missing. We really are back in the western world. Surreal, strange, uncomfortable, scared but excited as we can't wait to see our families and friends. The realisation at the same time that 2009 is going to be a very different one from 2008 is slowly becoming reality!! Back into 9 to 5 and life in the fast lane, for us this has been cars and buses held together by chicken wire and traffic jams of cows camels and tuk tuks. Will we get this mum on the M5 home and will there be whales swimming by us in the Solent on the IOW ferry? However this adventure is only the start of many more adventures in our life together so watch this space!! Heathrow here we come..................................
