After the bustle of Phnom Phen, we headed down the coast by local bus to Cambodia's top up and coming beachside resort, Sihanoukville! And so to the 19th we left by bus to reach the capital Phnom Penh, the countryside reminding us of Africa a dry flat barren land stretching out in the distance. Over the next two days we visited many (!!) of the numerous temples around the area including the famous Angkor Wat at sunset which was absolutely stunning I think only photos can truly highlight the magnificence of these temples. There are over 70 temples and we managed to see about 25 over the two days, which was breath taking and pretty kackering too, as climbing to the top of them was pretty steep at times and coming down could be quite hairy! ...

Our main aim once we had reached Cambodia was to see Angkor Wat in the north of the country, to achieve this we had to board the Angkor Express and if the boat looked as good as it did on the ticket we were in for a luxury cruise up the river to our destination.
