Turns out that Frau Pöppel wasn't as bad as she made out. She had a lovely smile on her face this morning and we sat and put the world to rights in my best German. I got on my way about 9am, destination Straubing 94km away. The sun was shining again which was a bonus so I slapped on the sun cream before setting off. The route is getting easier at this point with there being fewer climbs. The Danube itself is getting much wider and there is more boating activity going on. 

Very much alone on the route again today, I barely saw anyone until I reached Regensburg. A stunning city which I had visited before so I didn't stop to look around again. I did however stop and have some bratwurst sandwiches with lovely sauerkraut and mustard, delicious. 

Back on my way, with the sun getting hotter I rode through Wörth an der Donau and kept going towards Straubing. Passed a few day trippers and tractors but nothing else. I arrived in Straubing at 3.30pm so I had plenty of time to get myself settled and then go on a walkabout. I found Internet finally, strange that it is so hard to come across here in Germany. After updating myself I went and had a currywurst, delicious. Have had to buy some nappy rash cream, things are getting a tad sore down there :-) bought some herbal sleeping tablets too, let's see if I sleep better tonight. Tomorrow will be my last day in Germany with my destination being Passau "The Venice of the North", on the German-Austrian border.
