Walker's Travels in Scandinavia 2017 and others
Day 5 Sun 15 May 16, fine with some high clouds, 8 - 24deg. Lightning Ridge to Bourke 314km. Got away at 8:30am and apart from plenty of live emus and still more deceased roos, oh and wide open spaces which we love (but don't normally stop for) there wasn't much that slowed our journey today. The road was flat, smooth and straight. We were going to stop in Walgett for mornos, however, the only place that was open was the servo. It may well have served a good cuppa but after refueling the truck, we drove until we found a decent stopping spot and brewed up not far out of Walgett. Brewarrina on a Sunday was not much and arrived at Bourke about 1pm and after a bite to eat, yep salad again, we had a LLD. This travellin' is hard work. Got the bikes off and did a quick recce around town. A more detailed look in the morning. Dinner was a $5 stew with damper at the camp kitchen with a whole bunch of strangers who are not so anymore. It was great to hear all their stories. We are all out there seeing the big wide brown land.

Gunther We are watching closely & travelling with you in spirit. The underground carvings looked great. He probably makes more from the tourists than the opals..
