Sunday in Bangkok and most of the markets are closed with locals taking a well- deserved rest. We took the riverboat to Silom Road - only to be picked up by a TukTuk driver who told us that everything is closed . We agreed to a tour around Chinatown ...and the inevitable visit to a tailor, gem outlet ( Clint didn't think that the Usd6000 bracelet looked so great as he had first thought ....and this was after the 45 % discount ) and a leather handbag shop ( with a back room full of fake Breitling and Rolex watches). Seeing that everything was closed and we wanted some lunch we were dropped off near Silom Road and found a roadside restaurant for green curry. The most expensive meal we had in Bangkok ...but food was tasty and large portions. Interesting company names : Creative Accounting (Pty)Ltd (must be the busiest company in Bangkok ...by far), Lucky ....just about every type of company. After taking the river boat back to Tha Tien and an afternoon snooze, we walked to the park with the boys ...to see the lights, have some snacks at the food market and watch the boats along the river and the light show on Wat Arun. I could have sat there all night - people ans scenery watching. the boys went off on their much anticipated night of razzling in Khao San Road.
