sooo we spent the following day after our last blog in pushkar too and we did a little shopping, going in to a bangle shop and trying on sooo many that our hands were a bit raw at the end! Both left we a beautiful set of bangles each. Next we went to the lake of karma and had a little ceremony and threw some flowers in the river before returning back to our hotel to spend an afternoon in the sun. We kept getting interrupted by young indian girls wanting their pictures taken with us!!
Next we went to Jodhpur. The blue city. Its called this because of the blue colour of the houses which comes from lavendar and helps keep the houses cool and acts as an insect repellent. We went to forts and palaces here and it was all very impressive.
Finally we came to Jaipur, which is the capital city of Rajasthan and is known as the pink city. We went to the city palace and two more forts today, one containing the worlds largest cannon! The usual seen on the road trips of overturned lorries and camels, though as we turned up in the city of Jaipur there was an elephant casually walking down the side of the highway!!
We have found the way we decided to do India very beneficial. It may have been very expensive but having seen the buses around they are definately overcrowded and we would have not been very sae. With our car came a driver who doubles up as a guide and a body guard. We feel we've got to see the real India, the rich and the poor!
We've had wonderful time in India but are very excited about Thailand.
Love US xxx
